Will he or Won't he?
It's a total mystery to Gary Oldman why  Warner Brothers assumes that he will reprise his role as Sirius Black in the upcoming 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' which began filming on Monday. The studio has made no contact with Oldman's manager or agent, yet was telling fans sites of the harry potter series that he was indeed signed up and would be showing up on set.

Now, why would Warners do this? Perhaps they just don't want to pay the high fee that Oldman will probably now demand, considering the lack of future the character has. (Oops, is that a spoiler still? Too bad.)

In any case, the Sirius character is a major player in this book, he has several pivitol scenes and is somewhat the focal point for Harry's actions and concerns. I would hope that Gary Oldman would be back in teh part, as he is a brilliant actor and this role is right up his alley. He's excellent at portraying the SuperHero as Human, if you know what I mean, and Sirius Black is nothing if not human in this book. But if Gary doesn't get to play it, it'll be ok. Just won't be Gary.

Here is a link to a story that gives a little tiny bit of detail but not much else.

It isn't that this is really all that important. It's downright frivolous, in fact, compared to the Sony announcement that their prices on Blu-ray products will be at least 15 percent higher than their prices on DVD products- and that's pretty frivolous itself.
It just seems like lotsa people are talking about really serious , life-altering stuff lately and I wanted to NOT talk about that. Besides, I'm a fan of the movies.
So there you go.
