Eye of the Beholder
This article describes how The Royal Academy in London displayed a plinth and support as art, and rejected the actual piece, a head, that had gone missing somehow.

This reminds me of the days when I'd give my nephew a present and he'd spend hours playing with the wrapping paper and tuck the actual present under a chair in the living room.


It also tells me that Art is where you see it, and only you can tell you what's good and what's not. Many people confuse art with craftsmanship- but apparently the Royal Academy has that part down

Remind me some day to lecture the class on workmanship.
