I went to an un-named college town in Texas this morning for a few hours. It took most of the day because this town's about 115 miles from my house but the errand had to be run.
Anyway, in this nameless Texas College Town Of Intermediate Size, I got off the highway, took a right on University Parks, and a left on Washington, down to 8th and Columbus. This part of the drive was under two miles at tne most .
On that part of the trip, I saw at least 15 women of varying ages, all of whom were very large. I do not recall ever seeing such a strong concentration of obese people in such a small stretch of road, much less all of them women.
And I saw at least three crazy homeless people. I'm not talking about seeing homeless, I'm talking about the ones who say hello to trees, wheel their shopping carts full of trash around, and talk to themselves while walking down the sidewalk and staring at the ground.
I have an affinity for these kind of people. I may well become one!
As if this is not enough, as if these sights would not make anyone call this day a full one, I also saw at least 18- and I am not kidding- jaywalkers. Yes, people who crossed the streets in the middle of the block,. often without looking out for traffic first. These people are crazy.
I am very, very disappointed that in my brief 10 minutes of being on the road in this College Town In Texas That Has Baylor In It, I did not see a single obese homeless crazy female jaywalker. Maybe next trip.
In OTHER news....
I see that the Stooge has a Plog on Amazon.com, hawking Gus Openshaw's and Nelson's books. Good for him! It's nice to have a hobby. I'd provide a link but I think it's different for everyone.
